Eminent Domain
Eminent domain refers to the right of the government to take or appropriate private property for public use, under certain circumstances, in exchange for just compensation for the property taken and damages to any remaining property.
Our attorneys have experience and expertise representing appropriating authorities, such as local governments and political subdivisions, and property owners in eminent domain proceedings. As a result, our attorneys understand all aspects of eminent domain law and use that perspective to obtain the best possible results for our clients.
Working closely with other professionals who assist us in protecting our clients’ interests, such as real estate appraisers, consultants, surveyors, and engineers, our attorneys routinely address a broad range of property valuation issues to determine just compensation and damages.
